Malenadu spices come straight from the rain soaked hills of the Western Ghats in Karnataka. Pepper vines climb the areca and silver oak trees here, cardamom grows in the shade of the forest and nutmeg trees stand next to coffee plants. It is one of the best places in India to grow spices, and our farmers have been doing it for generations.Everything in this section is sourced directly from the farmers of our collective. We sun dry, clean and pack the spices without adding polish, colour or preservatives. Batches are sent to NABL accredited labs for testing, and you can see the reports on our lab reports page.You will find everyday spices like black pepper, cardamom, clove and turmeric powder, along with local favourites like kokum rind, monkey jack powder (vate huli) and bird eye chilli that are hard to find in city shops.
