What does ಮಲೆನಾಡು mean?
Malenadu comes from two Kannada words, male (rain) and nadu (land). Put together, it means the land of rain. It is the name for the hilly, forested belt of the Western Ghats in Karnataka, where coffee, areca, pepper and cardamom grow and the monsoon shapes everyday life.
For many people who grew up here and now live in Bengaluru, Mumbai or abroad, a small word like ಮಲೆನಾಡು on the fridge is a daily reminder of home.

How to care for your magnet
Wipe it with a dry or slightly damp cloth when it gets dusty. Do not soak it in water or keep it near the stove, as heat can fade the print over time. If you move it around a lot, lift it straight off the door instead of dragging it, so the surface of the fridge and the magnet both stay free of scratches.
Keep it away from small children who may put it in their mouth. It is a thin, light piece but it is still a magnet and not a toy.
A small piece of home
We made this magnet because many of our customers asked for something simple that says Malenadu without being loud. It sits quietly on the fridge and every time you open the door for milk or curd, you see ಮಲೆನಾಡು looking back at you.
